The PlayStation 5 brings a new generation of gaming experiences and with the DualSense Edge, Sony has a pro controller in tow that has been specifically designed for advanced players.
Highly Modern Design and Functionality
The DualSense Edge offers a plethora of features, including assigned buttons, four custom profiles, removable thumbsticks and modules, as well as a solid housing. This makes the controller a true highlight for advanced players.
Shorter Battery Life
Although the DualSense Edge has many innovative features, one downside is the shorter battery life compared to the standard DualSense controller. A teardown of the device has shown that the DualSense Edge has a smaller battery with a capacity of 1,050 mAh, compared to 1,560 mAh for the standard controller.
Sony Speaks Plainly
Sony is aware that the DualSense Edge's battery life is shorter and states that it is between five and ten hours with normal use. The reason for the smaller battery is that more hardware was installed in the DualSense Edge to make room for the components.
Pro Users Need Not Worry About Battery
Advanced players will likely use the DualSense Edge with a cable that reduces latency to zero and keeps the controller charged while playing. The 3 meter long cable allows the controller to be used from a certain distance away from the PS5.
