Sony releases information on new back button attachment
Just before the end of the year, Sony is presenting a new extension for the Dualshock 4 controller: the back button attachment or back button attachment. Users can assign up to 16 different actions to the additional back buttons. The versatile and powerful attachment with its slim design is a must-have for every gamer.
The novel levers basically remind of the practical Xbox paddles. For a long time, Sony had nothing to oppose to this concept. But a few days ago, the group officially presented its own attachment, which can be easily mounted on the Dualshock 4 controller.
Scores with slim and grippy design
This new development consists of two additional buttons that the user can program at will. In this way, the buttons used on the top can be easily moved to the bottom. According to Sony, this should shorten the reaction time considerably and make players more flexible.
The back buttons can be programmed with up to 16 different actions, including various actions such as circle, R1 or R2. The player is given the opportunity to jump or glide without delay.
In addition, the accessory has an integrated OLED display that transmits real-time information to the user about the respective button assignments.
Sony also announced that the back buttons can be assigned even during the game by pressing a special button. Three different assignment profiles are provided, between which the player can switch at any time.

According to Sony, the attachment is suitable for all Playstation 4 and Playstation VR games - the ergonomics of the DS4 would not suffer from it. In addition, there is a headphone jack for wired 3.5 millimeter headsets for the controller.
The Dualshock-4 back button attachment is to be released on the German market on February 14, 2020. The price is likely to be around 39.99 euros according to information.
