An Unusual Twist on Mini Golf
Although it may be far removed from his previous work on games like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and the Call of Duty series, Tony Gowland's new game "Dungeon Golf" is an unconventional, fun twist on mini golf with plenty of charm. It is receiving a major free update to celebrate the Halloween season.
Fantasy Meets Golf
"Dungeon Golf," developed by Gowland and his team at Ant Workshop, is a fantasy version of golf where you trade the golf course for underground lairs filled with dangerous traps and monsters. You can play it solo or as a multiplayer game with up to four players online or locally.
Characters and Game Elements
In "Dungeon Golf," you choose from eight different golfers who represent classic fantasy tropes, such as an axe-wielding barbarian or a frog with a lute. Each character has their own unique abilities. On your journey through changing hideouts, mountain fortresses, ancient temples, and volcanic forges, you must carefully time your shots to avoid various traps and tricks.
Monsters and Treasures
During your golf matches, you will encounter various monsters, from classic slimes to goblins and golems. A successful victory against these creatures will earn you additional shots. Not to mention the chests full of treasures that you can open to collect mana and perform your character's most powerful moves. Learn more about these exciting aspects in the Dungeon Golf Key Guide.
Halloween Update "Undead Lair"
A game like "Dungeon Golf," which is already suitable for the Halloween season, is now further intensified thanks to the free "Dungeon Golf Undead Lair" update. This new six-hole course is a "dark, swampy necropolis full of monsters and tombstones."
Additional Content in the Update
In addition to the new course, the update also adds some additional single-player content in the form of the 'Creepy Classic Golf Quest,' which offers nine rounds of new challenges. Ant Workshop has even improved its CPU opponents to increase competition in all game modes.
Release Date and Availability
The Dungeon Golf Undead Lair update will be released for free on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, and will be available to all owners of the base game. If you haven't played it yet and are tempted to take a swing, you can purchase Dungeon Golf on Steam. It is currently in the early access phase, and the team expects this phase to last for about three more months.
