The open-world zombie game Dying Light by Techland is very popular in the horror genre. However, in Germany the game was placed on list A and thus did not end up in regular sales. Here, the brutal close combat, which is shown from the first-person perspective, probably played a major role. On Keyfuchs.de you can find out which information is already available for the sequel Dying Light 2.
No specific release date yet
After the first part from the year 2015 as well as the battle royale spin-off Dying Light Bad Blood, which was released as an early access version on Steam in 2018, Dying Light 2 was originally supposed to be released in 2020. However, there is currently no specific release date for the continuation of the horror game, so it is not expected to be released before 2021. Dying Light 2 has been announced for both PC and several consoles. So the game is not only supposed to be released for PS4 and Xbox One, but also for the next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X as well as Series S.
Since Dying Light 2 is still in development and not even a rough release frame is known, it is currently not possible to say anything specific about a possible indexing in Germany. Here Techland has to find the balance between the raw brutality, which contributes a lot to the atmosphere of the game, and the guidelines of the USK, which in the end decides whether Dying Light 2 will end up in regular retail.
What to Expect in Dying Light 2
Whether the title ends up being rated or not, what is already known about the gameplay sounds very promising. The events of the predecessor are now 16 years in the past. There is not much of civilization left, so it is a daily struggle for survival. Different groups and brutal bandits fight for scarce resources during the day, while at night the dangerous undead are on the move.
As a player, you slip into the role of Aiden Caldwell, who is infected with the virus himself and therefore has special abilities in both combat and parkour through the game world. In addition, your decisions during the course of the game play a major role in how the story and thus the city itself develop.
The campaign of Dying Light 2 is not only to be experienced alone, but also with up to three other players, so that even multiplayer fans can have fun.
