Dying Light 2 Stay Human - Release now not until early 2022

Dying Light, the 2015 survival horror hit, impressed horror fans with a successful mix of parkour elements and survival battles in the fictional city of Harran, overrun by zombies. The innovative day-night cycle in particular makes the game unique. In bright daylight, zombies are slow and you can easily avoid them. But after dark they become fast, aggressive hunters. The result is pure suspense. Thanks to the cooperative multiplayer mode, Dying Light was still enjoyed by 17 million regular players in 2019.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human won't be released until early 2022

The official sequel Dying Light 2 was supposed to continue this success formula on December 07, 2021. But this year's planned release for Microsoft Windows, PS 4 & 5, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S won't be happening. Fans will have to wait two more months. As the developer Techland announced, the release date has been postponed to February 04, 2022.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is finished, but the optimization is still lacking. Internal game tests have revealed too many performance problems for an early release. This is of course a sad piece of news for those who would have liked to play the sequel to their favorite game at Christmas. But on the other hand, the willingness to miss the Christmas business shows that Techland puts quality before profit.

There are supposed to be many new features in Dying Light 2 Stay Human

At the same time, Techland announced that there will be playable versions for video game journalists and content creators to try out in October 2021. Then we will learn more about whether Dying Light 2 Stay Human has the potential to match the predecessor in terms of game systems. A new YouTube video from the developer is already giving us some hope. Because there the new weapon system was presented. According to this, there will be a crafting system with which you can create, modify and improve your own weapons. Techland claims that there are 200 different variants possible. This time they include not only close combat weapons, but also spears and crossbows.
