EA Sports and the Premier League - A new era - £500m deal on the horizon

The Premier League and Electronic Arts (EA) are close to entering into a new partnership worth approximately £488 million. On Friday, 20 Premier League clubs were informed about the new six-year partnership which would establish EA as the leading partner and exclusive licensee for electronic games.

This new extension is more than twice as valuable as the existing agreement between the two parties.

Financial Strength Drives Premier League Clubs Forward

It is the financial strength that has prompted considerations from some clubs to join the European Super League. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are involved in the European Super League for financial reasons, as the leagues in LaLiga and Serie A cannot compete commercially with the Premier League.

Farewell to FIFA: EA Sports Goes Its Own Way

In addition to the upcoming deal with the Premier League, EA is parting ways with FIFA after 30 years. According to reports, the FIFA games will be renamed EA in the summer.

20 Years of Partnership: EA and the Premier League

EA and the Premier League have had commercial relationships since 1998. Since 2016, EA has been the leading partner of the Premier League. This new partnership comes at a time when Liverpool and Manchester United are attracting the interest of potential new investors.
