A content update for Elden Ring was announced out of nowhere in a new trailer. This is set to release today, December 7th, 2022. The DLC sends us to the multiplayer Coliseum where we can duel other players.
Speculation on Content
This expansion was discussed and speculated on in various forums beforehand, which is why it shouldn't come as a surprise to many fans. Up until now, the Coliseums were considered landmark points in the Interland that couldn't be entered. However, data miners have managed to get inside and show that the interior of the buildings is set up as an arena.
There are not one or two, but three Coliseums in total, each located in a different region of the Interland. These are in Limgrave, Leyndell, and Caelid. In addition, there are supposed to be three different game modes, in addition to duels, team fights, and "free-for-alls". The latter is probably an everyone-versus-everyone mode.
The trailer also depicts the atmospheric multiplayer battles. So we'll have to wait and see!
