The next "Fable" game has reached a playable state. Vijay Gill, a producer at Playground Games, has updated new details about the game's progress on his LinkedIn profile. According to Gill, his work includes preparing and running playtests and reviewing builds with key stakeholders.
Although "Fable" was not mentioned at the recent Xbox & Bethesda Developer Conference, fans are still looking forward to the upcoming chapter of the franchise. The last major title was "Fable Anniversary" in 2014. "Fable Legends" was planned but canceled in 2016.
To develop the game, Playground Games is relying on its own in-house engine "ForzaTech". Eidos Montreal has also been brought in to assist with development. The new "Fable" was first announced in 2020 and will be released exclusively by Xbox Games Studios.
The game will be released for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
