Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of classics such as Chrono Trigger and Kingdom Hearts, has shown interest in bringing his latest project, the mobile RPG Fantasian, to PC. During a Q&A session at the Magic 2023 Festival in Monaco, Sakaguchi mentioned that there have been numerous requests for a PC version of the game and that he would like to meet those expectations.
Fantasian was released in April 2021 and is currently exclusive to Apple Arcade. The game was released in two chapters and features a unique art style that uses real-life dioramas created by Japanese artists who have worked on tokusatsu films such as the Godzilla films, Attack on Titan and Ultraman. The environments were scanned and transformed into in-game environments, resulting in realistic backgrounds. The game also features a new soundtrack by Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu.
Sakaguchi has mentioned that this could be his last project and has approached Fantasian as his last big project. There have been many Apple Arcade titles in the past that have lost their exclusivity after a certain period of time and have been transferred to other systems, such as Lego Brawls.
Possibly a PC version of Fantasian in the future
With its unique art style and music by Nobuo Uematsu, Fantasian is a game worth being available on more platforms.
