Far Cry 6 - New information about the villain instead of release

It's been some time since Ubisoft presented the latest installment in their popular shooter series. When the announcement trailer for Far Cry 6 appeared as part of Ubisoft Forward in summer 2020, fans expected a release in spring of the following year. Now we have arrived at this point, but there is still no official release date.

However, a new leak has now appeared, which does not provide us with the hoped-for release date, but does reveal more information about elements of the story and the villain of the game. The latter is actually actor and Breaking Bad villain Giancarlo Esposito. In the game, he is said to go by the name Anton Castillo and be known there as El Presidente. Together with his son Diego, he has set out to restore his country to its former glory.

According to the leaks, the first interaction with the villain is supposed to take place at the beginning of the game. After the first main mission, the protagonist and guerrilla fighter Dani Rojas falls into the hands of Castillo. He immediately orders his execution, which is to be carried out by none other than his son Diego - an rather unusual, but appropriate educational measure of the father for the setting.

After Diego cannot bring himself to do this task and just before Anton Castillo does the dirty job himself, Dani manages to escape. From this point on, it should already be possible for the player to explore the shooter's open world and complete available missions at will. Even simple side missions should have an impact on the main story here. Of course, El Presidente has not forgotten your escape and is still plotting revenge…

With Far Cry 6, publisher Ubisoft is finally bringing another sequel to the shooter series popular with players and praised by critics to the market. It will be interesting to see if Ubisoft takes the players' wishes into account and returns to the old roots of the series. The setting would be perfect for this. But no matter how the open-world shooter plays: Pure shooter fans and lovers of the series who value a good singleplayer with an exciting story will definitely get their money's worth with Far Cry 6. However, we will only find out whether the above-mentioned leaks turn out to be true when the game is released. Until then, you can perfectly pass the time playing the previous games.
