FIFA 22 - Standard and Ultimate Edition - The Differences

It won't be long now until the white leather is kicked digitally across the pitch again in the new Fifa 22. That Mbappé graces the cover once again - as he did with the predecessor - should not distract from the fact that a lot is changing under the hood. In this post we want to take a closer look at the differences of the upcoming versions of the latest installment, because which one you buy also decides when you can start gaming...

As a games developer founded in 1982, Electronic Arts is known primarily for its football spin-offs in the form of Fifa, which have been supplied with new iterations since 1993. Thanks to the official license, gamers from all over the world can sweep style over the virtual pitch with stars of the past such as Pelé or Maradona, as well as with current players of the calibre of Coverstar Mbappé or Christiano Ronaldo. The latest part Fifa 22 offers a lot of content with more than 700 teams, over 17,000 players and more than 90 stadiums including 30+ leagues. But the title also promises a bigger jump forward technologically: In addition to an revised goalkeeper system that makes the individual players more distinguishable, a next-gen feature is particularly striking, which will only be available on the new consoles Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and the streaming platform Google Stadia: Hypermotion. For this, motion capture recordings were made of 22 professionals who were wearing so-called Xsens suits. Combined with machine learning, the algorithm can then dynamically generate new animations on the pitch based on 8.7 million recordings of real games, depending on the situation in the match.

Once you have decided on a platform, you still have to choose which edition you want to buy. There is an Ultimate and a Standard Edition.
