Firewall Ultra: The Evolution of Team-Based Shooter - New Content and Features Specifically for PSVR 2

Firewall Ultra: An Evolution of the Franchise

One of the best team-based shooters for the original PlayStation VR was Firewall Zero Hour. The sequel, Firewall Ultra, is currently in development for PlayStation VR 2 and promises with new gameplay details even more reasons to keep an eye on the title.

Early impressions describe Firewall Ultra as more of an evolution of the franchise rather than a simple sequel. This means that fans of the original will experience reworked and improved content from the first game. Of course, there will also be plenty of new content and features specifically tailored to the capabilities of the PSVR 2.

Improvements and New Features in Firewall Ultra

Thanks to the power of the PlayStation 5 and the capabilities of PSVR 2, player wishlists have been added to Firewall Ultra. Dedicated servers, new abilities, contractors, maps, and weapons have been added and improved. For example, all character models have been recreated to look great in 4K HDR. Older maps receive new areas and textures, while weapons will be even more customizable. The graphical overhaul is also due to the switch from Unreal Engine 4 to UE5.

Gameplay Adjustments and PSVR 2 Features

The evolution will also bring gameplay adjustments. There will still be 4v4 teams, but this time matches will be played over three rounds. As mentioned, maps will be larger and the defense/attack method remains the same. However, you should still look for Crypto - an in-game currency that can be found or earned by winning matches, completing objectives, etc. Crypto can then be spent on new contractors, cosmetics, weapons, and attachments.

First Contact Entertainment has fully utilized the eye-tracking features of PSVR 2. The studio has already revealed that you can switch weapons with your eyes, making changing equipment in combat faster and more intuitive. In addition, aiming will be more accurate by closing one eye to fine-tune the alignment of the weapon. Flashbangs and light sources can be blinding, but you can close your eye or look away to avoid this. Additionally, thanks to the Sense controllers of PSVR 2, you can strategically blind enemies by placing your hand over the light.

Other Features of Firewall Ultra

Firewall Ultra offers even more features: With the headset's 3D audio, you can listen for enemies and set traps. Haptic feedback has been individually tailored for each weapon, so Sense controller triggers feel different depending on the weapon held.

Finally, death in the game does not mean the end of your game session. If you fall, you can follow the match through a series of security cameras scattered throughout each map. If you watch and keep an eye on an enemy, they will be highlighted in red for your teammates - regardless of walls and other obstacles.

Release and Exclusivity

There is currently no release date for Firewall Ultra, but it will be a PSVR 2 exclusive title. Stay tuned for more information on this promising team-based shooter!
