Fortnite Introduces Age Restrictions - News about Fortnite's Latest Update

New age restrictions in Fortnite

Hey gamers, pay attention! Epic Games has once again turned the Fortnite world upside down. This time, it's not about new characters, weapons, or maps - no, Epic Games has added age ratings for Creative Islands and even some cosmetic items as part of the new Fortnite update. Sounds unusual? Well, let's dive deeper and see what this means for you.

From now on, every island published in Fortnite will display its own age rating. Some of the cosmetic items are also no longer considered suitable for experiences with the E or E10+ rating. But don't worry, we'll fill you in on all the details.

What does this mean for you?

When logging into Fortnite, you will notice that every in-game experience now has an age rating. This applies not only to player-created Creative Islands, but also to Epic's own modes. But don't worry - with new parental control settings, you can now determine which experiences can be played. With a new PIN system, you have control over which islands younger players can enter.

But it's not just the islands that are affected. Some cosmetic items now carry a yellow symbol indicating that they are unsuitable for certain age ratings. If you try to select them anyway, they will be replaced by the standard version of the respective item.

Example: Runway Racer Pack

We were able to verify this with the new Runway Racer Pack, which you can unlock through quests. The Back Bling (a weapon in a holster) is now restricted and displays the yellow symbol.

Age ratings for islands

But back to the islands: Each one now has an age rating, which is displayed in the bottom left corner of each mode map. Interestingly, at the same time, the main loading screen was updated and no longer shows weapons. Could this be related to the age ratings? We'll keep you posted!

Plenty of new things in Fortnite

While you're getting used to the new age restrictions, Chapter 4: Season OG is in full swing. With weekly updates, new weapons, and a constantly changing map, Fortnite is always exciting. And if you haven't gotten your Fortnite Key yet - what are you waiting for? Dive into the world of Fortnite!
