On June 8th, the developer announced that the license for the game is expiring and therefore sales must be stopped. However, this does not mean the complete end for fans, as there is interesting news about a new Friday the 13th game at the same time.
A New Friday the 13th Game is in the Works
Harry Manfredini, composer of the series, revealed in an interview that a new Friday the 13th game is in the works. However, it is being developed by a different company and is expected to offer more realistic characters. Although not many details are known yet, this is a glimmer of hope for fans of the series.
Gun Interactive bids farewell
After having to halt all new developments for the game in 2019, Gun Interactive has been in a state of existential limbo. Now, the developer has announced the final closure date for Friday the 13th The Game: it will no longer be available for purchase, either physically or digitally, after December 31, 2023. However, existing copies will continue to function until at least December 31, 2024.
Price reduction and thanks to the community
As a token of appreciation for the community's dedication, Gun Interactive has reduced the price of the base game to $4.99 and each DLC content to $0.99. These prices will be valid until the game is finally removed from digital and physical stores on December 31, 2023.
