Xbox Game Pass Price Increase
Microsoft has announced that prices for several tiers of the Xbox Game Pass will be increased. However, these changes will mostly affect console players, while PC players will largely remain unaffected. The monthly price for the Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will be slightly raised for the first time.
Less Concern for PC Players
Despite the small price increase, PC players don't have to worry too much, as only the Xbox Game Pass is affected. However, the Game Pass Ultimate will also become more expensive and could potentially affect PC players, as it works on both console and desktop applications.
Xbox Series X also affected
In addition to the price increase for the Game Pass, Microsoft is also raising the price of the Xbox Series X. In a statement to The Verge, the communications chief of Xbox explained that the company "has held its console prices for many years and adjusted prices to competitive conditions in each market."
When will the changes take effect?
If you have already subscribed to one of the affected PC Game Pass subscriptions, you will only notice the price changes on Sunday, August 13. New monthly subscribers will see the Game Pass price change from Thursday, July 6. If you pay annually instead of monthly, you will only notice the price difference when you renew your subscription.
