After the developers of Tango Gameworks already proved their talent for gruesomely beautiful horror experiences with The Evil Within, the Japanese studio is taking things one step further with Ghostwire: Tokyo. Well, for one there is the story that transports you to a fictional version of the eponymous metropolis Tokyo, which has been plagued by a mysterious curse. This not only caused all the residents of the Japanese capital to disappear without a trace. At the same time, mysterious ghostly creatures, referred to as "visitors," are making the streets of Tokyo unsafe.
You slip into the role of the protagonist Aiko, who during his adventure discovers that he has supernatural abilities that gradually begin to manifest themselves. With these powers, Aiko faces the danger and asks the question of what it is with the dark curse that made Tokyo's population disappear.

According to the developers, the combat system can be described as "karate meets magic," as you use Kuji-kiri-inspired hand gestures to activate your supernatural abilities in combat against the ghosts.
