What to expect in Graven?
With Graven, developers Slipgate Ironworks™ and publisher 3D Realms / 1C Entertainment deliver a retro shooter of the old school. As a magic-wielding priest, you play Graven either alone, in split-screen mode or in online mode for four players.
In the fantasy game world, you roam dark areas and face terrible powers. Your story begins as a soul condemned to death, who finds himself in an unknown swamp. From now on it is your task to assert yourself in the merciless setting.
Graven's gameplay offers continuous variety. In a colorful mix of spells, shooting and close combat, you complete various quests and solve various puzzles that advance the story. However, Graven does not always take you by the hand. The developers attach great importance to independent exploration of the world.
The game is very similar to the well-known Hexen 2. Especially graphically, Graven transports you to another time. All textures and models are heavily pixelated and thus create the classic feeling of the late 1990s. In the current version of the shooter we are in Cruxfirth, the first of three regions. The remaining locations, weapons and quests will be unlocked at a later date through content updates. Until this happens, however, players will have to be patient, because Graven is not supposed to leave Early Access until early 2022.

The gameplay also promises diversity and fun. The environment can be changed using spells and crystals. The gunplay is convincing again with a large selection of different weapons that can be upgraded at blacksmiths and alchemists. You can also improve your skills.
