Griftlands - A deckbuilding roguelite in a science fiction setting

Originally planned as a classic role-playing game, Griftlands was remodeled into a collectible card adventure with a rougelite twist during development. If you're looking for a cheap Griftlands key, Keyfuchs is the place for you.

Griftlands is currently in development by Canadian developers Klei Entertainment, who made a name for themselves on the international stage with titles like Don't Starve, Shank or Mark of the Ninja. Originally, Griftlands was supposed to be a turn-based role-playing game in a fresh science fiction setting. However, during development, the makers of Klei Entertainment decided on a new direction for the game.

In its current version, Griftlands presents itself as a collectible card adventure in which the duels are fought in a turn-based manner. Set in a science fiction world threatened by decay, Griftlands repeatedly presents the player with sometimes tricky decisions. According to the developers of Klei Entertainment, we actively influence the course of the story and the further fate of the game world Havaria with completed jobs, collected cards or closed friendships.

The playable characters include the adventurer Sal, who is looking for revenge as well as profit. Rook, on the other hand, is described as an aging spy who has his own plans. More characters are to be added at a later date. In Griftlands, the numerous fights against enemies or sometimes screen-filling bosses are fought out in turn-based card battles. According to official information, several hundred cards are available for purchase or left behind by defeated opponents to ensure the necessary variety and the corresponding strategic depth.

Strategically well-assembled decks are a must in duels against powerful bosses. One of the special features of Griftlands is that the duels are not fought to the death. Instead, a fight ends when the other side surrenders. Now it is up to the player to decide whether to spare his opponents or kill them. Killing enemies, for example, can cause the player's reputation to decline within his own team. If you spare your opponents, however, you run the risk of being attacked by them again at a later stage.

Since the residents of Havaria remember every deed of the player and react accordingly, no decision should be made lightly.
