Beach Life - The First Update
As early as 2013, there were the first funny updates for the online version of GTA V. Starting with the Beach Bum Update, which focused on the beach of Los Santos, the fictional city in the game. For the update, some beach outfits were made available to players, as well as cool tattoos, new hairstyles and more. Of course, new vehicles were also added, because that's what the GTA series is all about. The car Bravado Paradies fit perfectly with the beach life, because the white van can be sprayed with cool waves or different ocean creatures. So the boring car quickly becomes a cool surf van. A new boat was also included in the update, as well as two new weapons - one of them is a broken glass bottle.
Hohoho - Festive Updates
GTA V has limited time updates for almost all major holidays. These are only available for purchase for about a month, but remain available to those who have purchased them after they expire. The various Christmas updates, which are always released at the end of the year, are particularly nice. In December 2015, for example, you could enjoy fun Santa Clause-style costumes that are perfect for a bank robbery. In addition, it suddenly started snowing in Los Santos.
And there was also some romance for Valentine's Day. In 2014, the Valentine's Day Massacre Special was released with elegant gangster outfits in the style of the 20s, new weapons and a classic car. The 2015 Halloween Surprise also caused excitement. Not only did the Fränken Stange car appear, which with its unusual design fits perfectly into any horror movie, but also new masks in a creepy look.
The Casino Opens
The last two big updates were released in 2019. This year was all about the new casino in town. For a few years now, a sign has been hanging on an abandoned casino building announcing the reopening. For a long time, the players were not sure whether this was just a meaningless element in the game or whether the opening was actually planned. In summer 2019, the resolution finally came and the Diamond Casino & Resort was opened. This update was one of the biggest so far and brought 500 new missions, 500 new clothing items, 22 new vehicles and of course the casino itself.
Here you can try out a lot of casino games that follow the original rules. Blackjack, poker and roulette are offered here, and you can spin the wheel of fortune every day and win a brand new car with a little luck. The timing of the update was extremely well chosen, because in recent years casino games have become increasingly popular. No wonder GTA wanted to benefit from this. The game is played with the currency used in the game, which can be earned, won or bought externally. Are there more updates to come?
First indications of a new part of GTA have already been given. It could be that GTA VI will finally be released at the end of the year, because fans of the game series have been eagerly waiting for a completely new version. It is not quite clear whether there will be any more updates for GTA V until then, but we are convinced of it. In 2019, fewer small updates were released than in previous years, instead two large updates were released every six months. So it is quite possible that we will be able to look forward to new content again in June or July 2020.
GTA Online lives from its large updates. New content, missions, vehicles and outfits appear several times a year. The release of the next big update is already being eagerly awaited.
