Guild Wars 2 revolutionizes gameplay with new weapon abilities
It's official, friends! The year 2024 is a milestone for our beloved game Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure™. Each class is getting a brand new weapon - and today, we're focusing on the Mesmer and their powerful new rifle!
The Rifle - A versatile weapon for the Mesmer
Not only does the rifle look cool, but it's also a real support weapon for long-range combat. It provides healing to your allies and offers useful extras to assist your team.
The Power of Portals
With the skill Inspiring Images, the mesmer can cast a beacon of light that grants allies power and fury. But that's not all. In times of need, the beacon can be detonated early, healing allies and damaging enemies. We call this abstraction, and it's a game-changer!
The Singularity Shot
The skill 5, Singularity Shot, is another highlight. You shoot a bullet that grants nearby allies barrier and resistance. The bullet then becomes a singularity, which can collapse with the skill Dimensional Opening. The result? A one-time, one-way portal! This portal can be used by an ally to teleport to your location - perfect for quickly calling for help in dire situations.
So, the rifle provides mesmer with brand new support options and creates exciting decision moments in the game. And the best part: You can try out all the new weapon and class combinations during the Advanced Weapon Skills Beta Event! This event starts on November 28th at 9:00 AM Pacific Time (UTC-8) and ends on December 3rd at 10:00 PM Pacific Time (UTC-8).
But be careful: This is a beta test - some of the weapon skills are still placeholders for user interface, art, and audio. If you want to learn more about the new weapons, be sure to watch the Advanced Weapon Skills Preview Livestream on November 27th at 12:00 PM Pacific Time (UTC-8).
