"We really want to revamp the experience," says co-lead developer Chris 'Mddbulldogg' Workman in an interview. "We all have this perfect image of Half-Life 2 in our minds from the first time we played it."
The team aims to improve the game in a way that makes you feel exactly like you did when you first played it: fresh, new, and excited. Of course, the impressive physics and beautiful lighting will not be neglected either.
Mod Compatibility and Challenges
Orbifold Studios promises that most existing mods can be seamlessly integrated into Half-Life 2 RTX. However, mods with custom assets may pose a bit more of a challenge – but not an impossible one.
While the team is committed to staying true to the original, there are some challenges. "You often have to make many sacrifices," says co-lead developer David 'Kralich' Driver-Gomm. Despite the difficulties, the team remains optimistic and believes that Half-Life 2 with RTX will be a resounding success.
