The Return of a Classic
Wow, what a surprise! "Half-Life", the true gaming classic, has just set a new player record on Steam. Yes, you read that right! But that's not all, Valve has also released a gigantic update and made the game free for a limited time. With restored cut content, completely new multiplayer maps, and even a one-hour documentary celebrating the game, "Half-Life" is definitely back.
If you haven't added the game to your library for some reason, you still have some time to redeem the free "Half-Life" offer. Trust me, it's definitely worth it!
New player record thanks to 25-year update
Over the past ten years, "Half-Life" has had around 500 concurrent Steam players. But with the 25-year update, we have seen a new all-time high of approximately 31,000 players. According to my estimates, that's an average increase of nearly 6,000% just from one update. Impressive, isn't it?
What does the anniversary update offer?
The anniversary update is much more than just a bit of dusting off. It brings back the original Uplink demo, adds four brand new multiplayer maps, gives the game Steam Deck verified status, and revamps the UI for 4k. And of course, the game is currently free, but I would bet that the Valve shooter doesn't need to be free to drive up the player count.
