Halo Infinite: The multiplayer is great and free
One of the strengths of the Halo series has traditionally been its extensive multiplayer component. Halo Infinite will of course be no exception. However, the developers of 343 Industries decided to go new ways with the next big adventure of the Master Chief.
This creates the multiplayer separately from the campaign and is released in the form of a free2play title. In the technical area, 343 Industries wants to make full use of the technical possibilities of the Xbox Series X or the current PC hardware and promises, among other things, a representation in butter-smooth 120 images per second. This should lift the familiar fast-paced multiplayer battles of the Halo series to the next level and offer an intensity that has not been seen before.
But not only technically and gameplay-wise, the Halo Infinite multiplayer should also score points in terms of content. For example, extensive customization options for your own character, his weapons and the vehicles are promised. No details have been given about the modes that will be offered as part of the online multiplayer. But you can probably expect the usual suspects like the classic deathmatch, team deathmatch, king of the hill or capture the flag.
It is certain that the editor called Forge, which was very popular in previous versions, will return. The Forge editor will allow creative contemporaries to let off steam and create new content that can then be shared with the international community - be it new maps, modes or more.
This ensures that the multiplayer component of Halo Infinite will be supported for years with new content. Halo 5: Guardians already showed where the journey is going.
In addition to the community, the developers of 343 Industries will also regularly provide fresh content. Other important aspects of multiplayer will include the eSports component. Here, Halo Infinite is to remain interesting in the long term and play along with the greats. But even outside the eSports scene, there is long-lasting entertainment in Halo Infinite's multiplayer.
After all, the members of the Xbox Game Studios are sticking to their cross-platform approach and letting players loose on the battlefields together on the Xbox One, the Xbox Series S, the Xbox Series X and the PC. Appropriate filters ensure that duels between users with the controller on the one hand and the mouse and keyboard combination common on the PC on the other hand can be prevented. This ensures a fair competition at all times.
