The Halo Infinite update on February 15th includes both nerfs and buffs for some weapons and game mechanics. The changes are based on feedback and bug reports from players.
Nerfs for Grenades, Power Weapon Spawns and Weapon Drops
A major focus of the update is the change to power weapon spawns on the map. Weapon racks will now only provide one weapon in order to reduce the power on the map. There will also be a nerf to frag grenades, reducing the damage radius. These changes are meant to combat the "drop weapon meta" where players drop their weapons instead of swapping them. Weapon drops will also be nerfed by making the pickup time comparable to the normal weapon switch time.
Buffs for S7 Sniper and Bug Fixes
The update will also bring improvements to the S7 Sniper by reducing the no-scope error angle to allow for more accurate shooting. There will also be bug fixes for client and server stability, reduction of stuttering on semi-automatic weapons, and the removal of a visual glitch.
Ammo Reductions and Cut Halo Reach Spartans
In addition, Season 3 will bring ammo reductions for the Heatwave, Stalker Rifle, CQS48 Bulldog, and Shock Rifle. In a previous update, the Cut Halo Reach Spartans were added.
Plans for Halo Infinite Forge Unchanged
Plans for Halo Infinite Forge remain unchanged despite Microsoft cutbacks in the studio.
The February 15th Halo Infinite update will bring important changes to the game based on player feedback and bug reports. Players can expect nerfs to grenades, power weapon spawns, and weapon drops.
