The German Attack on the Genre Throne
With Highrise City, the German development studio Fourexo Entertainment announced a new city-building simulation that will be published in cooperation with the Frankfurt-based indie label Deck13 Spotlight. According to their own statements, the developers are pursuing the goal of taking the genre of city-building simulations to the next level and giving it a new look with Highrise City.
Furthermore, Fourexo Entertainment promises a modern interpretation of the genre that is supposed to inspire with the versatile construction of upcoming metropolises as well as the complex resource-based economic system. All in all, Highrise City unites the player strengths of well-known role models such as Cities Skylines or Anno to an interesting strategy mix that will also inspire and challenge genre veterans.
Numerous buildings, huge maps and more
According to the makers of Fourexo Entertainment, Highrise City allows you to stamp out huge and lively cities by building more than 30,000 buildings and using more than 40 different resources. The reward for your hard work: the view of a busy city that represents more than 5,000 vehicles and up to 20,000 residents at the same time.
For an individual and varied game experience, Highrise City offers five different population classes, four construction modes, maps up to 197 square kilometers in size, and eight parameters with which you can individually adjust the difficulty level and thus your gaming experience.
Building roads has never been easier
The developers of Fourexo Entertainment also placed great value on the fact that the construction of roads is as easy and intuitive as possible. In four different construction modes, the roads can be built without a grid.
You can build and demolish roads according to the needs of your cities and of course also build tunnels.
A user-defined pathfinding algorithm for the vehicles and the residents ensures that there are no unnecessary traffic jams and delays at any time. As your city grows, you are of course faced with the task of providing for the welfare of your residents and a thriving economy. For this you develop new technologies, use your resources to create functioning supply chains and pass laws to further optimize your game style.
Since all parameters of your game can be adjusted, Highrise City supports the Steam Workshop and thus enables the community to exchange their works with other players or to download and use their creations.
