In this world you take on the role of the young Aloy, who was immediately excluded from her own tribe, the Nora, after her birth. This is a matriarchal tribe, so the women are in charge. The small tribe is ruled by a council made up of three highest ranking women. The Nora worship huge destroyed machines that testify to a technologically highly developed past. In addition, the world is inhabited by large machines that resemble prehistoric wild animals and dinosaurs.
As an adult, Aloy gets a chance to return to her tribe. To do this, she has to pass the test. This is a ritual in which all young Nora prove their ability to hunt, fight and survive. Aloy wants to win at any cost to find out why she had to grow up in exile. You spend the first few hours of the game preparing for the test. This is how you get to know the game elements.
