Starfield is one of the most highly anticipated video games of the coming years. This science-fiction adventure from Bethesda Game Studios is the developer's first new franchise in 25 years. Players are excited to explore the previously unknown galaxy and uncover the secrets of the universe. Bethesda hasn't revealed too many details about the game yet, but based on the recently released gameplay trailer, there's already a lot of speculation about how Starfield will begin and what kind of game it will be.
The player starts the game as a space builder
In the Starfield gameplay trailer, we see the player starting out as a space builder working for the company Argos Extractors. This part of the trailer could be the opening mission of the game. As players mine resources from space and search for new raw materials, they come across a mysterious alien artifact that triggers strange visions. One of the main characters in the game is a representative of an organization called Constellation, who is supposedly one of the last remaining space explorers. The player will encounter them frequently throughout their adventure.
A strange artifact is uncovered
While working in space, the player discovers a strange artifact. This artifact seems to have special properties, as after the player touches it, they see strange visions. These visions seem to convince them that the artifact is of utmost importance and they attract the attention of Constellation by citing their discovery.
An encounter with a member of the Constellation Guild is interrupted
After discovering the artifact, the player will encounter a member of the Constellation Guild who will explain the meaning of the artifact. However, before this can happen, this encounter is interrupted by an intervention from the Crimson Fleet. The player is forced to defend themselves against the pirates. It is not yet known if they are also interested in the artifact.
The Constellation Pilot's spaceship is inherited
After defeating the Crimson Fleet, the player inherits the Constellation Pilot's spaceship. The player will also inherit the robot Vasco, who likely belonged to the deceased pilot. Thus, the player will begin the first part of their journey with the spaceship and robot that were left to them.
The player takes on the mission of the Constellation Pilot
As the game progresses, the player will try to learn more about the artifact and other similar artifacts that seem to reveal the secrets of the universe. The player will embark on a journey to learn more about these artifacts and explore their origins. This journey will take the player to different places, planets, and stations to uncover the mystery behind them.
