Hello, hunters!
It's that time again - the Update 1.15 for Hunt Showdown has been released, bringing some exciting new features with it! Alongside the latest event - Tide of Desolation - we can expect major changes to the controller controls and progression, as well as minor quality of life improvements. So, grab your weapon and let's dive into the details together.
Progression Update
This update includes a revamp of the Bloodline and weapon progression in Hunt. Our goal with these changes is to make progression easier, faster, and more convenient for new and prestige players.
Bloodline
- All weapon unlocks have been removed from the Bloodline. All base weapons are now unlocked at Rank 1. Weapon variants and special ammunition are unlocked with XP.
- All tools and consumables are now exclusively unlocked through Bloodline rank progression.
- The XP thresholds for Bloodline ranks have been adjusted, with the total XP required to reach Bloodline Rank 100 slightly reduced.
XP Balance Changes
- XP earned from killing hunters has been standardized to 450 XP. Previously, XP per kill ranged from 300 to 550 XP, depending on the MMR of the killed player.
- XP awarded for certain AI kills has been increased.
- Players no longer share weapon progression XP with their teammates.
- Excess XP now carries over from one target to the next. Previously, any XP earned beyond a target's threshold was lost.

Weapon Family XP
The ammunition type of a weapon now determines the amount of XP needed for each unlock in its family. As a rule of thumb, all unlocks in a weapon family require the same amount of XP.
Weapon Inspection
The second set of weapon inspection animations is here! This set includes all rifles and shotguns, as well as their variants and legendary versions.
New Controller Behavior
This update also brings a revamp of controller behavior, including the introduction of input curves that describe how stick input translates into camera rotation. There are also improvements to sprint behavior and more.
Traits
Two previous event traits are returning as permanent burn traits. They can now be found in the world, either dropped by Meatheads or randomly as a Trait clue.
Gunplay
Last but not least, there are also some improvements to gunplay, including ADS enhancements and more.
