In April 2020, American video game developer Riot Games announced that it had acquired Hypixel Studios, a Canadian video game developer. Hypixel Studios has been working on Hytale - a block-based role-playing game set in procedurally generated fantasy worlds - since 2015. These so-called "zones" are made up of a variety of biomes, blocks and mobs, and offer players RPG-based combat, participation in minigames and the ability to create and share mods and other user-generated content.
About Hytale
An exact release date is not yet known, but the release is planned for 2021. Hytale is planned to be playable on the Microsoft Windows and macOS operating systems, and will include a Java-Scripting system, among other things. This allows you to create and run your own codes in-game.
Another element that promises almost limitless gameplay and further user-defined content is a web-based 3D modeling and animation toolkit, the so-called Hytale Model Maker. It is the current tool of the developer studio for creating objects, figures and animations and will be available to all players after the release.
Hytale itself is based on the principle of a role-playing game in the context of a block-based and sandbox world. Solo players and multiplayer parties can play minigames on official and community servers in the so-called Zones and fight through dungeons, at the end of which a reward awaits the or the winners. The game includes block-based construction and also offers the possibility to create and share cinematic elements and own worlds.
