With Isonzo the third game of the WW1 first-person shooter series will be released on September 13th, 2022. The developers M2H and Blackmill Games have already proven with the two predecessors Verdun and Tannenberg how a good WW1 game looks like.
Historians will already know from the name that Isonzo is set on the Italian and Austro-Hungarian front. There you experience one of the most brutal periods of the First World War with rifles, ice picks, cannons and even poison gas.
New in Isonzo
The most obvious first. The developers have put a lot of time into the new models of soldiers, weapons and also the landscape. But a new class system has also been introduced to the game. In addition to new roles, there are new equipment options to choose from. There will be a total of six game cards at release, one of which, "Dolomiti", was already seen in the trailer. In the Dolomites, the Italians are attacking Sasso die Sesto, one of the famous mountains in the Dolomites.
An interesting new feature from the trailer is the ability to customize your character individually. So part of the uniform is controlled by the player class, but there are still some freedoms.
The goal of the developers was to not lose authenticity and at the same time promote some more individuality in the game. In addition to various helmets, hats, uniforms, there are also nice accessories like tobacco pipes or bandages that can make the player unique. But there will also be a wide range of beards to choose from in Isonzo.
Isonzo will be released for PC on Steam, for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
