The Exciting Highlights of the July Update for Sea of Thieves

After a month full of thrilling updates and summer fun, we had to bid farewell to July - but we're here to reignite that spark with a summary of the things you might have missed. Here are some of the most notable highlights from July:

Content Update

The big news in July was, of course, the arrival of "Sea of Thieves: The Legend of Monkey Island"! The first of three Tall Tales in this festive crossover launched on July 20th, giving all players the chance to explore this classic location and meet its colorful characters.

News and Features

Before we got to "The Legend of Monkey Island," we had another announcement: The winner of the Hoarder's Hunt! Pythagorwalrus was declared the fastest finder and winner of the golden skull. With the conclusion of the hunt, some of the puzzle designers were finally able to talk about their work and provide insight into how the mystery was created.

Videos and Streams

With so many exciting things happening in July, it made sense to kick off the video schedule with Episode #12 of the official podcast. Later, the developers geared up for "The Journey To Mêlée Island" with a series of previews of what was to come. And then, it was finally time to launch, and they did so, of course, with a fancy launch trailer for the occasion.

Social Channels

With community-driven summer events like Fest of Legends and SoTFest, immense creativity was inspired. The developers continued the screenshot theme with a Twitter request for the latest snaps from all players. As July came to a close, they took a few quiet moments to appreciate the beauty of Mêlée Island.

And with that, the developers plunged into August! But that's a summary for another month. Next month? Definitely.
