Knockout City - Dodgeball as a video game? Seriously?

Wild multiplayer dodgeball matches in teams or everyone against everyone in the streets of a vibrant city: that's what American video game developer Velan Studios promises with Knockout City. And that in cross-play for Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows.

Knockout City sets timing instead of accuracy

In dodgeball, also known as dodgeball in Germany, the aim is to hit other players with a ball. In Knockout City, the developers take this virtually to the extreme. Here your team has to hit the players of the opposing team until they are knocked out. Knockout City plays a bit like a rudimentary shooter, as you move your character from a third-person perspective over a map and try to catch other players.

But it's not all about aiming. Thanks to automatic targeting, you don't have to worry about that. Instead, it's all about movement. Where you stand, behind which objects you hide and how fast you are: all this decides whether you hit or are hit. You can use everything you see in the city as cover and position help. If a ball is caught, it will be faster, making the game increasingly faster.

Special attacks in your own outfit

As is now customary for multiplayer service games, you can also customize your character's look in Knockout City with colorful outfits and special attacks for spectacular action. The time is 21 May 2021. Of course you will find great deals here at Keyfuchs.
