The quest to learn Crucio, "In the Shadow of Studies", will appear for you after completing the main mission "The Fortress". To access the quest and learn Crucio, you must have reached at least level 16. Experience points for leveling up can be earned by completing quests and challenges throughout Hogwarts or by collecting field guide pages.
Learning Crucio: Step-by-Step Guide
- Once the quest is available, you must enter a secret location called "Slytherin's Scriptorium".
- First, Sebastian will ask you to enter the secret chamber with his friend Ominis Gaunt.
- Once inside, you must solve a series of puzzles to reach a door with the word "Crucio" etched on the floor.
- When you reach this door, Sebastian will offer to teach you the Crucio curse.
Decision and Later Effects
If you choose not to learn the spell, there will be another chance later in the story; however, it is recommended to learn it now so that you can use it against powerful enemies in Hogwarts Legacy later on. Once learned, Crucio can cause damage to enemies over time. It is particularly useful against some of the stronger enemies you will encounter during a playthrough.
