Lost Ark brings fresh air with new "Jump-Start" servers
Smilegate has just announced its upcoming implementation of Jump-Start servers in Lost Ark, with the aim of creating an easier entry point for returning players. Lost Ark is an aesthetically appealing MMORPG that constantly surprises with interesting updates.
What are Jump-Start servers?
The new hosts, called "Jump-Start" servers, are designed to make the lives of returning players easier by providing them with an independent space where they can learn the game mechanics. They are meant as a kind of "restart" and can help players "experience the many unique raids, dungeons, and character systems that make Lost Ark special".
An Independent Gaming Experience
The new servers will be isolated from others and will have their own features. Everything, including the auction house, marketplace, party finder, and PvE matchmaking, will function independently. The only thing that will remain shared across regions is the PvP matchmaking and ranking system. Smilegate says, "This allows new players to have an independent experience that is not influenced by existing servers or regions".
Future Plans for the Jump-Start Servers
Although the Jump-Start servers will initially be isolated, the developer says that the team "will closely monitor progress and population numbers". Therefore, Smilegate plans to "reconnect the Jump-Start servers with their respective regions within the next six months". The complete server details can be found on the official Lost Ark website.
Launch Date of the Jump-Start Servers
For those of you eagerly awaiting the new system: the Jump-Start servers will launch in Lost Ark on Wednesday, September 13th. Another step forward for this fascinating MMORPG!
