However, alongside these strengths, the M109 also has some weaknesses. It is lightly armored and has a relatively low rate of fire. But who says a true warrior doesn't like a challenge?
Various variants for different nations
The M109 will be available in several country-specific variants. The German, Italian, and Israeli ground forces will receive standard models of the self-propelled howitzer (SPH) with the standard L23 caliber gun. On the other hand, the American and British ground forces will have access to the M109A1 - an upgraded variant with a longer L39 gun.
