Last week, a major issue arose in the EA game Madden NFL 23. The temporary "data storage problem" now means that up to 60% of damaged Madden - Franchise save files are not recoverable.
Connected Franchise Mode Problems
Anyone who wanted to play in the Connected Franchise Mode (CFM) of Madden NFL 23 on December 26, 2022, saw nothing. Persistent connection problems annoyed the fans of the game, EA apologized via Twitter, but the solution did not follow until two days later - on December 28, 2022. From then on, the company promised that we could now play CFM without any problems.
Anyone who then logged in - and did so within 22 hours of the announcement of the problem solution - saw the evil before him: his own franchise save data was damaged by the aforementioned "data storage problem". After this was confirmed over the weekend, the next nightmare followed. EA can only restore 40% of the leagues from a backup.
Players are said to be lucky who did not log in during this period. At least according to EA itself, which now also guarantees safe gameplay without any storage problems.
Whether this is now a consolation for all those who have lost data as a result remains to be seen. However, it could have been worse, as in 2004 when a PS 2 Holiday Demo Disc for Viewtiful Joe 2 finally deleted all saved games on every memory card inserted into the system irrevocably.
