Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - New update featuring Birdo and additional character slots

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe fans have reason to rejoice: The latest update of the Nintendo racing game brings a new character, Birdo, to the roster. But that's not all: Five new ?-slots on the character selection screen suggest that more new characters will be added in the future.

Wave 4 of the Booster Course Pass DLC offers 8 new tracks

Version 2.3.0 of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe not only adds Birdo to the track, but also eight new tracks as part of Wave 4 of the Booster Course Pass DLC. In addition to the new Fruit Cup, which includes an original track on Yoshi's Island, there is also the Boomerang Cup, which brings two classics from Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart Double Dash back into the race.

Character updates aim to improve vehicle balance

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe update brings changes to the vehicles themselves, as well as character updates. The statistics of almost all characters have been improved to balance the game and give players more freedom in character selection.

According to the Japanese Mario Kart tournament blog, the ground, water, air, and anti-gravity speeds of almost all characters have been increased by one point. This will make lighter characters more competitive at the same level.

New character slots hint at future expansions

The five new ?-slots on the character selection screen of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe suggest that multiple future updates will bring new characters. The game will continue to offer new content and excite players.

The additions and improvements to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe show that the game is still relevant and supported by Nintendo, even after its release in 2017. Fans can look forward to more content and improvements that will keep the game current and entertaining for a long time to come.
