A Look at Miasma Chronicles
Welcome back, dear Keyfox gamers! Today we have a first impression of Miasma Chronicles, the new tactical role-playing game (TRPG) from developer The Bearded Ladies for you. You may remember their previous title Mutant Year Zero. Well, Miasma Chronicles is similar to that game in many ways, but builds upon its elements and improves them.
Post-apocalyptic America and a Lost Mother
In Miasma Chronicles, you play as Elvis, who lives in a mining town called Sedentary with his robot companion Diggs. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic America and revolves around the search for Elvis' missing mother.
Tactical Battles and Miasma Powers
The battles in Miasma Chronicles are tactically designed and offer various difficulty levels as well as different approaches. Throughout the game, Elvis gains so-called Miasma powers, which equip him with additional abilities. This makes the variation in combat more interesting and offers you as a player more opportunities to strategically defeat your opponents.
A Polished Successor to Mutant Year Zero?
So far, some minor bugs have occurred in the game, but nothing serious. Overall, Miasma Chronicles seems like a polished version of Mutant Year Zero. However, the question remains whether it justifies its price - especially considering that the game currently costs 50 dollars.
Outlook on Miasma Chronicles
If you are a fan of TRPGs or Mutant Year Zero, you should definitely keep an eye on Miasma Chronicles. Despite some minor bugs, the game seems to be a successful tactical role-playing game that builds on the strengths of its predecessor and further develops them.
