Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
The wait is over - on August 18, 2020 the new part of the Microsoft Flight Simulator series will finally hit the market. The giant software company promises unique features that have never been experienced in any video game before. What makes the simulation so special and whether it is worth buying for you, you will find out in this article.
As the name of the game suggests, you slip into the role of a real pilot in the flight simulator. Whether over the snow-white mountains of the Alps, the idyllic beaches of Spain or the blue-shimmering Pacific Ocean: the choice of flight route is up to you. The game also does not fail due to the wide selection of premium airports, which were created in close cooperation with the responsible persons of the real airports. The premium airports are particularly detailed, although there are said to be an incredible 40,000 airports in total, where you can take off and land.
In addition, there are various aircraft from which you can choose at will. The classic Boeing 747 aircraft are particularly attractive due to the highly detailed implementation. In addition to enjoyable moments above the clouds, suspense moments are guaranteed by incidents such as a failure of a component or an emergency landing of another aircraft at any time.
What makes the 2020 Microsoft Flight Simulator so special and unique is mainly the graphics, which no other video game can match. The software company's brand new technologies make it possible to generate satellite images into three-dimensional environments through Microsoft Azure. For the first time in video game history, real graphics are used to develop the game world. This makes the more than two million cities look incredibly real, so you might think you're actually flying over the metropolises.
This new type of graphics promises a realistic gaming experience on a completely different level than comparable games, so Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2020 is likely to set new standards in every respect.
Of course, such elaborate graphics have a small downside: your PC's hardware requirements are high if you want to play the simulation. For this, Microsoft recommends a processor in the class of an AMD Ryzen 3 1200, a graphics card in the class of a GeForce GTX 970, and ideally 16 GB of RAM. If your PC hardware is not enough, you can also play the simulation on Xbox One or Xbox Series X. Because unlike on PlayStation, the Microsoft-exclusive game will also appear on the company's consoles.
There are differences not only in the platform, but also in the three versions: in addition to the Standard Edition with 20 accurate aircraft and 30 highly detailed premium airports, there is the Deluxe Edition with five aircraft and five more airports. The Premium Deluxe Edition offers even more possibilities and thus unfolds the maximum gaming experience.
Many may think that the flight simulator is a niche game that is only intended for airplane enthusiasts. But that is not the case, as the Steam charts show: after only 24 hours after the pre-sale started, the simulation landed directly on rank 1. The game is therefore a must for aspiring pilots, but also for players who enjoy photorealistic simulations and simply want an exciting and varied video game.
