A new update is available for Monster Hunter Rise. To use the DLCs and play online, the latest version must be installed.
Update Required for Online Play
An update to the latest version is required to play Monster Hunter Rise online. An update is also needed to use the DLCs. The Nintendo Switch version requires a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
Offline Play Without Internet
If you don't have an internet connection, you can still play locally with other players as long as everyone is using the same software version.
Storage Requirements and Availability
The update will be available on February 7, 2023 and will require 0.7 GB of storage on the Nintendo Switch and 2.6 GB on Steam.
New Content and Features
The Ver. 12.0.0 update includes new story elements, weapons, armor, skills, and system elements. A new monster has been added and will appear in hub quests. New infected monsters and risen elder dragons have been added. The capacity for anomaly investigations has also been increased.
New Weapons and Gear
New weapons, armor, layered gear, and skills have been added. New items for trading in the anomaly research lab have also been added. A new "Hunter Loadout" feature has been added to the gear box.
Guild Card Titles and 3D Audio
New Guild Card titles have been added. A new "3D Audio" option has also been added.
