Nations At War - Historical shooter newcomer for multiplayer lovers

The Maltese development studio Anvil Game Studios recently made its debut in the video game industry with "Holdfast: Nations At War". Since 2014, the employees have been working on the online multiplayer, which was finally released on March 5, 2020.

The game, which has only been released on PC so far, is particularly aimed at shooter fans and multiplayer lovers. If you are a fan of the "Call of Duty" and "Battlefield" game series, you will experience immense gaming fun with Holdfast. But the shooter can also tempt historically interested gamers, as the scenario is set in the Napoleonic era. Both the typical French soldier uniforms and the weapons and environments of the game remind you of this permanently.
For a large target group, Holdfast: Nations At War therefore promises to be a promising gaming adventure.

But what is the game actually about?
In Holdfast: Nations At War you slip into the role of a soldier from the Napoleonic Wars and try to defeat the enemy nation together with your fellow players. The special thing about it: Up to 150 (!) Online players can take part in each battle, which gives the shooter a unique gaming experience. On the one hand, this offers you realistic war conditions to make you feel like a real soldier in the Napoleonic War. On the other hand, large shooter communities are presented with an ideal platform to experience common fun.

In addition, the different combat environments from the wide prairies of France to the blue-shimmering Lake of Great Britain offer an exciting adventure. But not only the places, also the different methods of fighting prevent Holdfast from getting boring and monotonous quickly. Unlike other shooters, firearms are only one of many ways to kill your opponents here. On land, in addition to the grenade launchers typical of the Napoleonic Wars, swords can also be deadly for the enemy nation. In addition, riding a horse gives you the advantage of being faster than your opponent. In the water, however, the fighting is done with ship cannons, which leads to exciting sea battles.

In Holdfast: Nations At War, therefore, many things are important: team spirit, communication and tactics are "the A and O" to decide the war for themselves. Above all, the realism of the game makes the users marvel, because through the multitude of possibilities and the historically correct construction and course of the online multiplayer one can feel like a real soldier in the Napoleonic Wars.

The first reviews of Holdfast: Nations At War are accordingly positive. 86% of the almost 7000 player reviews on Steam rate the game "very positive". Above all, the particularly nice and sympathetic community of the game is emphasized by the users in the reviews.
In addition, the then still under development shooter won the 5th place of the "Indie of the year" award 2017.

So the positive facts and reviews do not deceive: With Holdfast: Nations At War, Anvil Game Studios has released a debut title that, with its mix of strategy, multiplayer, shooter, history and variety, is a fun alternative to well-known shooters like Call of Duty or Battlefield.
