The new Need for Speed: Heat is supposed to be better than all other NFS games before. To reach this ambitious goal, the developer Ghost Games will take only the best from all games of the series and combine it in one game. Whether this succeeds will be shown on November 8, 2019, because on that Friday the latest part of the racing game classic will be released for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
We have looked at the current state of Need for Speed: Heat and want to share our most important findings with you.
What makes Need for Speed: Heat the best NfS of the entire series?
The map in the new racing game has very large and sprawling areas, which in addition to highways also include mountain roads and thus clearly remind of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. The classic was released on October 2, 2002 and was playable on the PlayStation 2, Xbox and even the Game Cube back then. If you can't remember the Game Cube now, then let me tell you that it's been a long time!
The official races during the day come from Need for Speed Shift and Pro Street and are thus very technology-heavy.
The night races, which are illegal and often accompanied by police sirens, of course come from Need for Speed Underground 2. If you haven't played NfS Underground 2, then you probably won't be able to understand the enthusiasm that many gamers have fallen for with this title. But since Underground 2 was released on November 16, 2004 for PC, on November 17, 2004 for PlayStation 2, Xbox and Game Cube and finally on May 24, 2005 for Nintendo DS, not everyone knows it anymore.
Need for Speed: Heat Tuning
The tuning options were first very comprehensive in NfS Underground 2 and have helped the game to success. With the later NfS Carbon, the gaming experience was further increased. But the still popular part, which is associated with a lot of nostalgia, remains of course Need for Speed Underground 2.
There is also a Need for Speed: Heat Studio app for Android and Apple. You can find more information on the Need for Speed Heat Studio site.
Developer Ghost Games tried to bring all the good features and features of the predecessors under one roof. In particular, the police pursuits, which peaked in Rivals, were further improved. But the tuning and driving behavior was also adjusted and should fit even better to the game. At the same time, however, there is an open world feature that can be explored through a story, as in NfS Payback.
The motto of Ghost Games in the development is best summed up in „Open World Pursuit“.
The system requirements and download size of NfS Heat are also known
There is also new information on the technical requirements for Need for Speed Heat. The download size of the game can be found in the Xbox Games Store and PlayStation Store. With 24 GB for the Xbox One version of NfS Heat, the game is very manageable. The PlayStation version requires 50% more storage space here. To be precise, the PSN states "at least 35 gigabytes of storage space".
The storage size for the PC is even larger with at least 50 GB. This naturally suggests that there are even better graphics options and textures here than in the console versions.
