The fascinating languages of Aeternum make New World an even more immersive experience. Whether you're battling enemies or exploring remote areas to encounter mysterious NPCs, the game's languages add a whole new level of depth. In this article, we'll delve into how the development team created and implemented the various languages in the game.
Aaron de Orive, Narrative Designer, explains that in the development of the different languages in New World, they paid attention to how they should sound. With the right emphasis, intonation, and unique vocalizations, they can sound very alien and captivating.
The goal was to make the corrupted conlang sound deeper and more guttural. When recording Temp Voice, different vocalizations and intonations were tried until they settled on a pattern. Listening to the corrupted conlang is therefore more disturbing than reading it.
