Nintendo Switch Pro - Are there any exclusive titles for the new console?

The Nintendo Switch has been available since 2017, and since the introduction of the Nintendo Switch Lite in September 2019, it has been available in two versions. From the beginning, Switch users had to accept less powerful hardware in comparison to the direct competition, in the form of the PS4 and the Xbox One. This led to the fact that many large AAA productions either did not appear at all or only in greatly adapted form for the hybrid console.

The best example is the Legacy Edition of Fifa, which brings the basic game to the Switch, but leaves out performance-hungry innovations such as the Story mode The Journey. For some time now, there have been increasing rumours that Nintendo is working on a new, more powerful Switch version, i.e. a kind of Nintendo Switch Pro.

Exclusive titles for the better system?

Although an official announcement or even the presentation of a Pro model with better hardware is still pending, there are now various rumours about the games for the new system. The speculation is about a possible exclusivity of certain titles that are only supposed to run on the improved Switch version. This would mean that owners of the two older models would be left out of various games and would have to purchase the Pro model in order to be able to use all Switch games.

Even if this is of course not yet an announcement from official sources that should be taken seriously, such a procedure would not necessarily be surprising if one looks at the past. For example, Nintendo also released a small selection of exclusive titles for the New Nintendo 3DS that were not playable on the older models.

Whether the rumours turn out to be true will be seen in the not too distant future. We at Keyfuchs will keep you up to date.
