Overwatch 2 - New maps and dynamic environments

With the multi-player ego shooter "Overwatch" Blizzard Entertainment was able to establish a completely new game universe in 2016 in addition to their well-known brands like Warcraft, Diablo or Starcraft. After the great success of this game, the sequel to the Blizzard shooter was finally announced a few years later with Overwatch 2. Now some interesting new features have also been announced that are to be included in the sequel.

New battlegrounds and dynamics

In a presentation with leaders of the development team, the game director of Overwatch 2, Jeff Kaplan, announced that the game will bring a great variety of environments for epic battles all over the world. This was followed by the revelation of two new maps that will be included in the sequel: New York and Rome.

The Italian capital is supposed to look like a mixture of romantic architecture from the past and modern improvements. For example, the Coliseum, which is supposed to be located next to a modern stadium. New York, on the other hand, comes from the 1920s with an Art Deco style and brings futuristic elements for various sights (such as Grand Central Station).

In addition to new battlefields, dynamic environments are also to find their way into the game. For example, there should be different weather conditions on the same map that change from round to round. Sometimes you have to fight your way through a rainy night in Rome and sometimes in the company of a beautiful sunset.
