Overwatch 2 brings extensive changes for Sombra
The gaming community has been eagerly awaiting news about Overwatch 2. Finally, Blizzard Entertainment has revealed details about the upcoming seventh season, "Rise of Darkness," which promises a range of exciting features. However, the biggest surprise of this new round is the comprehensive overhaul of Sombra.
In Overwatch 2, Sombra's gameplay will undergo significant changes. Her previous passive ability, "Opportunist," will be removed from her kit and replaced with the new passive ability, "Stealth." This change means that you can no longer target enemies with low health through walls. Instead, you will remain invisible as long as you don't use abilities or take or deal damage.
Sombra receives new abilities and adjustments
The handling of Sombra's Translocator ability will also undergo a change. Instead of the previous principle of placing the beacon in a safe location and returning to it later, you will now instantly teleport to wherever you throw it. The good news is that the cooldown of your passive ability is reduced when you teleport. This allows you to use stealth and safely navigate the battlefield.
New ability 'Virus' for Sombra
Another big change in Sombra's kit is the introduction of the new ability 'Virus'. By using 'Virus', you can infect enemies with a projectile that deals damage over time. Interestingly, you can deal damage to already hacked enemies faster with 'Virus'. According to Blizzard, the goal of these changes is to allow Sombra to interact more actively with targets and give her kit a more engaging feel.
