Phasmophobia: What's in the Progression 2.0 Update - Overview of New Equipment, Level System, and Revisions

Welcome back, Phasmophobia fans!

We have exciting news for you: The introduction of Progression 2.0 is coming soon! The update will be released in multiple parts so that you can experience the new equipment and leveling system earlier.

Part 1: New equipment tiers, prestige, and leveling system

The first part of the update brings you all-new equipment tiers (the total number of equipment increases from twenty to an impressive sixty!), the prestige and new leveling system, as well as some revisions to the evidence. All these changes will fundamentally change the gameplay and reward your progress in the game.

After Part 1: Photo Reward System, New Tasks, and More Money to Earn

After the release of Part One, the development team quickly worked on revising the photo reward system, adding new tasks, optional objectives, and new ways to earn money in each contract. Look forward to the ability to use video and audio recordings as evidence!

Part 3: Character Models and CCTV System Overhaul

The third part of Progression 2.0 will add the long-awaited new character models (with customization options), replace player animations, and completely overhaul the CCTV system in the truck, making it easier to navigate through placed and location cameras.

Revision of "Freezing Temperatures"

During the review of evidence types, developers found that "Freezing Temperatures" also needed revision. The cold breath particles now appear at around 5-7 degrees Celsius and below. The thermometer will now be standard equipment and available for free in every contract. To find "Freezing Temperatures" as evidence, you must bring your thermometer into rooms where you have found cold breath and check if the temperature is zero degrees Celsius or below.

Various Equipment Levels for "Freezing Temperatures"

The various equipment levels offer different ways to check for "Freezing Temperatures" and find the room with the ghost:

  • Level I: An old household thermometer with a slow detection rate. You have to wait longer to get an accurate reading.
  • Level II: Similar to the current thermometer in the game, but used differently. Instead of turning it on and getting a reading every two seconds, you have to hold down the use button to scan for temperatures.
  • Level III: A direct upgrade from Level II, performing temperature scans twice as fast and being more accurate with each reading.

That's it for now! We'll keep you updated as more news about the Progression 2.0 update becomes available. If you have any issues or feedback, you can join the official Phasmophobia Discord.
