New Mode for Planet Zoo
After the beta was very successful and a lot of players took part in it, there was also a lot of feedback. This was taken to heart by the developer Frontier Developments and now quickly improved one of the biggest criticism points. We are talking about the online requirement in the franchise mode of the zoo management simulator.
In total there are three modes in Planet Zoo, which in addition to the franchise mode also include the single player campaign and the free mode. The changes in the game thus create a fourth mode, which should have the same scope as the online mode.
There is an official post about this in the official Planet Zoo forum in the dev blog by Frontier. There it was first explained why the franchise mode was developed as an online mode. One reason for the server-based mode is the economy controlled by real people, which is supposed to offer a unique gaming experience. Another reason is the large amount of data that is generated at all times in the mode and always has to be communicated to the server. Only in this way can it be excluded that the system is safe from cheaters and other unfair means.
But the criticism has arrived at Frontier Developments and they understand why the players want a franchise mode that can also be played offline. This new mode will also be in the game at release and is supposed to have a complete own economy. In addition to research, education and animals, almost everything will be available that is also available in the online franchise mode. However, the developer cannot imagine how trade between players, zoo rankings (leaderboards zoos) and community challenges can be implemented in this mode. So we will have to do without these things.
The Steam Workshop of Planet Zoo
What some may not yet know is that Planet Zoo has its own Steam Workshop. This workshop could already be used during the beta and the community did. In the Steam Workshop, players can create their own blueprints, which can range from a simple animal shelter to an entire enclosure. What the community has already created in the beta makes one wonder, because not only square houses with four concrete walls have been created. In a short time, over 3,100 blueprints have been created, which have to hide in front of the professionally created ones of the developers.
So you can find gift shops, food and drink stands and even whole reptile centers or royally looking lion enclosures. All blueprints can be found in the official Steam Workshop of Planet Zoo.
Our favorite creations in the Steam Workshop
Entrance: The Ivy Garden Entrance really caught our eye. It lets you dive into another world when you enter the zoo and radiates an elegance that you can only find in English country houses. The plants and flowers around and on the building make it clear to every visitor that the zoo is something very special and places great value on elegance and tranquility.
Tropical House: The Indian Greenhouse Atrium is, as the name suggests, a tropical house in Indian style, which is already very impressive from the outside. But also the interior radiates an atmosphere of India and the residents of the greenhouse fit perfectly into the overall picture.
Underwater Habitat: In the Underwater / Exhibit Viewing Area several things come together at once. In addition to the sheer size of this beautiful underwater habitat, the attention to detail is also very impressive. The creator named Sunnylilfox must have
