The PlayStation has been preparing for Discord support for months. In October 2022, there were reports pointing to an imminent integration. According to new reports, however, it will not be available until March 8, 2023 in Update 7.00.
Insider Gaming reports that a public beta for this update will start in the next few days and end on January 30. What exactly will be included in this beta is unclear, as testers will not be able to use the Discord functionality. However, Discord is not the only thing that will be included in Update 7.00. The report also states that PlayStation 5 games will be made playable via cloud streaming as part of the PS+ Premium tariff. What will be tested in this reported beta phase remains to be seen.
