To start the new PlayStation Plus service, PlayStation Now will be transferred to the new PlayStation Plus offer. It will then no longer be available as a standalone service.
PlayStation Now customers will switch to PlayStation Plus Premium at the start without increasing their current subscription fees. Basically, you will be able to choose from three flexible PlayStation Plus options in the future.
The service is currently limited to the following markets: USA, Canada, Japan, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden.
For Japan, PC streaming is not available at the start and is to follow in a future update.
But what are the contents of the new PlayStation Plus?
PlayStation Plus Essential
- Offers the same benefits that PlayStation Plus members have today, such as:
- Two downloadable games per month
- Exclusive discounts
- Cloud storage for game saves
- Online multiplayer access
- For existing PlayStation Plus members, there are no changes in this tier.
- The switch will happen automatically for existing customers.

PlayStation Plus Extra
- Offers all the benefits of the Essential tier.
- Expands the game selection to up to 400* of the best PS4 and PS5 games, including blockbusters from the PlayStation Studios catalog and third-party hits. Extra Membership games can be downloaded to play.

PlayStation Plus Premium
- Offers all the benefits of the Essential and Extra tiers.
- Up to 340* additional games, including:
- PS3 games available via cloud streaming
- A selection of popular game classics from the first PlayStation, PS2, and PSP generations, available as both streaming and downloadable versions
- Offers cloud streaming access to original PlayStation, PS2, PSP, and PS4 games offered in the Extra and Premium tiers in markets where PlayStation Now is currently available. Customers can stream games on PS4 and PS5 consoles, as well as on PC.
- Time-limited game trials are also offered in this tier, allowing customers to try selected games before purchase.
